Competencies 4.0 & Organizational challenges: the alarming state of unpreparedness of Swiss companies!

The exclusive Von Rohr & Associates survey reveals that 60% of companies consider softskills to be paramount across all profiles: creativity – speed of adaptability- agility - continuous learning will be assessed as key priorities. Emotional intelligence, resilience and ease in interpersonal relations are essential. Skills in the digital & numerical fields are considered necessary. Notwithstanding these findings, a majority of respondents admit that they have not taken measures to accompany their employees to this end. Today, this is an alarming observation to counter post COVID-19 impacts. Will Swiss companies be able to adapt and rise to the impending organizational challenges ahead?

Von Rohr & Associates partners with The GCSP to strengthen their respective mission…

An exclusive interview of Christian Dussey, Ambassador

The GCSP has developed a partnership with Von Rohr & Associates. Could you let us know what this partnership is all about exactly?

Von Rohr & Associates and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) established a partnership in spring 2019. Both organisations help participants and clients develop new skills. The GCSP helps its community thrive in the fields of peace and security and prepare them to make more informed decisions in their respective careers or positions.  Von Rohr helps its clients to better position themselves in the job market. This partnership allows an exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two organisations while mutually enhancing their network. GCSP Fellows-in-residence can attend workshops organised by Von Rohr and Von Rohr’s selected clients can participate in GCSP courses and events.

How does this partnership strengthen GCSP’s mission?

The primary mission of the GCSP is to actively promote peace, security and international cooperation through executive education, dialogue opportunities, policy analysis and applied research. The GCSP is a sought-after global platform for diplomatic dialogue as well as an education and training Centre for policy and decision-makers in governments, international organisations, non-profit organisations, as well as in the private sector… The GCSP uses new and innovative teaching methods centred on bridging experience and expertise through blending learning. It also supports a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multigenerational group of talented individuals through its Global Fellowship Initiative. It helps incubate and accelerate promising projects in the field of peace and security by offering space and resources that support research, foster creativity and collaboration.

The partnership with Von Rohr & Associates enables GCSP Fellows to better position themselves in the labour market. Some of these leaders in transition are between postings, or back from difficult missions. They have tremendous experience and are searching for new opportunities. Additionally, the GCSP equips them with the knowledge, skills and mindset to lead effectively in this multifaceted world. This creates a winning combination to make tomorrow’s world a more prosperous and safer place.

What are the benefits of this partnership so far and how do you foresee its future?

So far, one GCSP Fellow has taken part in a Von Rohr workshop on “Networking and Positioning “. On the other hand, two Von Rohr’s clientshave participated in the GCSP “Leverage Diversity to Increase Performance” workshop. While the partnership is clearly still in its very early days, the future is promising and the foundations for an even stronger collaboration in the months to come have already been set.
